Balloons
The sight of a colorful balloon drifting slowly through the air above the crystal clear waters of the lake is a familiar one in Tahoe. During your stay, discover the perfect peace and exhilaration of hot air ballooning for yourself. Balloons can fit up to 16 people, so you can bring everyone in your family or group along for the ride. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a snack or meal during your journey through the heavens, so bring along your kids’ favorite snacks or some strawberries and whipped cream to enjoy with your better half. You can try to capture the beauty of the Sierras, the lake, and the forest with your camera, but be prepared to be disappointed when the photos fail to compare to the breathtaking splendor of experiencing these sights firsthand. If you plan to go ballooning, be prepared to get up early! Most lift-off times are scheduled for shortly after sunrise since the wind picks up quickly after daybreak.

I like balloons, but I’m afraid of heights. Not sure if I would like it, but it seems like a great way to see Lake Tahoe! Maybe some day.
Those are some really nice photos! Do the balloons rides go on all year, or just in the summer months? Thanks!
Hi George! The balloons only go up during the summer months. Call Lake Tahoe Balloons, and they’ll give you their operating season for 2010: 800-872-9294
