Beaches
There are a multitude of adventurous activities to enjoy in Lake Tahoe, but sometimes nothing can beat an old-fashioned day at the beach. Sunbathing, wading, splashing, and building sand fortresses and castles are simple pleasures that individuals of all ages can enjoy. Lake Tahoe’s beaches, with their soft white sand and captivating hidden granite coves, are truly a sight to behold. Every area of Tahoe has its own distinct beaches, so you can have a totally different “day at the beach” just by driving a few miles. In South Lake Tahoe, you’ll find secluded beaches that offer privacy and a chance to escape from the crowds found in some other areas. Pope, Kiva, and Baldwin are three South Lake Tahoe beaches that are conveniently located and easily accessible. If you’re staying in Incline Village, plan to pass an afternoon at Sand Harbor, Zephyr Cove, or Secret Harbor. Here you’ll find enchanting sandy coves encased in ancient granite. Meeks Bay and DL Bliss in Tahoe’s West Shore have amazingly clear water, while Tahoe’s conveniently-located North Shore beaches feature numerous amenities, including expansive recreation areas and playgrounds for the little ones. Tahoe City and Kings Beach are two of the more popular ones in this area. Wherever you decide to go, the Tahoe sunshine, warm sand, and refreshingly clean water are sure to make your Tahoe beach day one to remember.
