Sightseeing
Even the most hard to impress individuals can’t help but be blown away by the astonishing views in Lake Tahoe. With its sparkling blue water, undisturbed treks of forest, and breathtaking wildlife, Tahoe is the ultimate sightseer’s destination. During your stay in Tahoe, you’ll find sightseeing opportunities all around you, but there are a few extra special spots that are worth a visit. Emerald Bay & Eagle Falls, with its scenic hiking trails, shoreline, and historical attractions, offers plenty of sightseeing opportunities. Take a hike to the Tea House, Vikingsholm, or the top of Eagle Falls for some unbelievable photo ops. The recreated natural setting in the Taylor Creek Visitor Center is another favorite sightseeing attraction, as are the beautifully restored historical buildings of Pope Estates and Valhalla. Hop aboard the Tahoe Trolley for a tour of the area, or have a seat in a horse drawn carriage to experience Tahoe and its sights in an entirely different way. A ride on the Heavenly gondola is also a must. Admire the landscape below while you travel leisurely to the top of the mountain, which offers one of the highest views of Lake Tahoe around. Of course, some of the best sightseeing experiences in Lake Tahoe might just be the ones you didn’t plan. Watching an endless array of colors fill the sky as dusk approaches, catching a glimpse of a peaceful family of deer, or just admiring a meadow of wildflowers dancing in the gentle breeze are all sightseeing experiences that are unforgettable and truly magnificent in their simplicity and natural splendor.
