Lake Tahoe Fire - Update

July 17th, 2007 by Lennette Perry

We have been very lucky during the devastation of our beautiful Lake Tahoe basin throughout this fire. Thankfully none of the LTA employees have lost their homes. Most of us were evacuated at one time or another and some weren't allowed to return to our homes for over a week. We are all very thankful for the amazing job our California and Nevada firefighters did to save the unsurpassed beauty of our home.

Unfortunately, this was not the case for all home owners in the burn area and we were terrified to hear that one of our home owners lost their vacation home. Our thoughts and prayers are with the owners and their families and LTA would like to wish them the best of luck.

There is some good news involving this disaster and we are very proud of our involvement. Due to our completed inventory lists, walkaway inventory lists, many still photographs, and our virtual tours, these home owners have a great opportunity to receive a very accurate return from their insurance company. We are so glad that we could help in this time of need.

Because of this disaster, Lake Tahoe has banned campfires in our campgrounds and LTA would like for you to consider upgrading your Charcoal BBQ to a Propane one. Although they have never been a problem, we are concerned because of the areas dry, fire danger. If you do decide to change your BBQ please let your Property Manager know so that we can add the information to our internal system.

Thank you!
